Our car wouldn't start late Saturday night while vacationing in Jackson Hole.
In 16 degree weather on Monday morning, I crawled under the car to remove the starter. I walked it a mile to the NAPA store to verify that is actually was the starter. They told me it was fine so I put it back in and checked for other causes. When I couldn't locate any other issues and verified that the battery was charged I took it out again the next morning in 23 degree eather and went to the Wolf's Dodge dealer across the hotel parking lot to talk to the service guys. They told me the starter was bad.
The failure of the NAPA store to identify a faulty starter caused me two extra days in Jackson and several cold experiences in a hotel lot with borrowed tools. Thank god for helpful staff at the Wyoming Inn. Shame on you NAPA.
I chose to order a starter on-line that came faster than their timeline and cheaper. Tthey missed out on a sale.
